General Build: Powerful but graceful - not over-muscular, but perfectly formed and perfectly fit.

Fur: Short and neat, a very pale grey-mauve.

Markings: A white front and lower face, and a dark tip on tail. Also, a tattoo runs under her right eye, in the design of a thorned vine.

Hair: A greyish purple sort of colour, darker toward the tips. It's short and straight, not going past her shoulders, and sits very close around her head. She tends to let it fall where it will, which results in it covering most of the right side of her face.

Eye Colour: Blood red, deep and dangerous.

Distinguishing features: Instead of ears, Shade has two small, batlike wings protruding from either side of her head. She also has a pair of full-sized wings on her back, when she chooses to let them show; the left is pure white and feathery, the right one pure black and leathery.

Preferred clothing: A corset-like ensemble of black leather, which laces up at the front; gloves which reach to her upper arm and lace-up boots which reach her upper thigh; armoured guards at her shoulders and wrists. She also dons similar armour over her chest when she's seriously fighting.

Accessories: A magical longsword, with decorations of thorned vines on the hilt.

PERSONALITY

General Attitude: Due to her unusual situation, Shade's personality is an alternating mixture of her Celestial and Infernal sides. Generally she is very serious, composed and self-sacrificing; however, she also has a very melancholy and bitter edge to her, and considers herself beyond redemption with a great degree of self-loathing. She has a very strong desire to protect the mortal world, even in her current situation - she would instantly do almost anything she believed was for the greater good of the Realms and their inhabitants. Her darker side, however, gives her a distinct sadistic streak; even with her incredible will, she cannot avoid periodical turns of rage, violence, and lust. After hundreds of turns, she has come to accept as a permanent part of herself - indeed, she relies on her savage side to deterr intruders upon her solitude. Obviously, a part of her aches for companionship, and cries out against the bonds she willingly placed upon herself - however, as she always has, she supresses these feelings for what she believes is the greater good.

Likes: For all that she has been betrayed, Shade adores mortalkind, innocence, idealism. Her only pastime is spending long hours in the cathedral library, treasuring the history of the mortal world.

Dislikes: The celestial and infernal denizens alike, evildoers (especially those who use religion as an excuse), cowards, deserters, betrayers.

Skills of note: As befits a high-ranked holy warrior with extra strength from demonic influence, Shade's combat skills are nothing short of incredible - certainly beyond any but the most extraordinary of mortals. She also has a degree of tactical knowledge, but is no longer in any position to utilise it.

Attitude in Bed: Shade is absolutely, utterly and unquestionably dominant. She is proud and authorative, approaching every situation as a soldier first and foremost, and is well aware of her (now somewhat dark) beauty and sexual allure. She is extremely confident in her abilities, and even if she wasn't, the demonic influence that would be necessary drive her to a sexual encounter these days would banish any doubt she might have. Bedroom encounters are no exception to the rest of her life, in that her sadistic streak is likely to shine through despite any efforts she may make to the contrary - sex would most likely result in BDSM situations inappropriate for the faint-hearted.

Turn-ons: Mortals, inexperienced partners, a need for protection (in her partners), innocence, moonlight, BDSM, blood.

Turn-offs: Not being in control, herself, gods or other celestials. Gore is also a turnoff for her - while blood tends to arouse her, anything more violent is dangerously close to letting her demon gain control, which she has no intention of allowing.

Social Status: Amongst mortals, she is both admired and feared; generally she is (with much relief) thought to be no more than a legend. Amongst the Celestial Order, she was previously a high-ranking soldier, though she is now considered lost to them.

Homeland/Birthplace: Like all angels, Shade originally resided in Celestia. She now lives in a ruined cathedral on Mt. Kyrie.

History: Shade is the same angel, Grace Ward, known in legend as the one sent by the God Aedryn Ward to liberate the people of Alternia from a terrible demon. The legend says that in the battle on Mt Kyrie, Grace Ward drew the demon's evil into her own body, sacrificing herself to kill him and destroying the cathedral.
Few know the truth of this legend. Grace Ward did indeed draw the demon's evil into herself, but the act did not kill her - it simply left her, and her holy sword, forever tainted. Effectively a half-demon, she would never return to Celestia as long as she carried this taint - however, nor was she willing to endanger the people of Alternia by walking amongst them. Thus, she resigned herself to a life of solitude, attempting to live out her days without ever again touching the outside world.

Style: Shade originally used a very classic one-handed longsword style, simple and effective. Since she and her sword were infected by the demonic taint, her blade has gained the ability to split into segments, becoming like a bladed whip; accordingly, she has worked this ability into her combat style, using the added reach and flexibility to trip, entagle and otherwise control her opponents.

Advantages: Shade doesn't actually have any outstanding strengths or weaknesses; she is a truly well-balanced combatant.

Special: Due to her demonic taint, Shade tends to become rather more violent and feverish over the course of a fight, gradually losing her clarity of thought. Because of this, she does her best to finish fights as quickly and efficiently as possible.
